Match Preview - Woodstock Reserves v Garsington
With no game scheduled for the 1st team, all eyes will be on the Reserves as they face of against OSL Divison 1 champions elect Garsington at New Road (kick off 2pm).
Garsington need just 4 points from their final 2 matches and can all but seal the title with a win tomorrow and will no doubt field their strongest side.
When the sides met earlier this year, Garsington squeezed out a very understrength Woodstock side 2-1 with Jacob Haynes scoring for Town. The game was most notable for some of the questionable challenges by the home side, one of which (off the ball) ruled Carl Shirley out for nearly 2 months. Hopefully the referee will be stronger tomorrow should Garsington play in the same manner.
Woodstock are likely to be down to bare bones again and are without Harry Mundy and winger Kevin McMahon, meaning young 17 year old Brazilian Victinho gets a chance. Joe Knight and Jacob Haynes will face late fitness tests but the management are hopeful they can be included. Shirley is also a doubt having not fully recovered from the injury sustained at Garsington earlier in the season. 39 year old player Manager Liam Walker has had to included himself in the 12 man provisional squad.
The odds appear to be stacked against the Reserves but stranger things have happened in football as they hope to pull off the shock of the season.
