The Return of the Woodstock Charity Cup

As it’s a World Cup year, Woodstock Town Football Club have decided to host a cup of their own!

We are dusting off the Woodstock Charity Cup and are resurrecting the successful pre-season 11-a-side tournament of years gone by.

The  tournament will be held at New Road on Saturday the 21st of July. The tournament will follow the traditional rules with two groups of 4 teams, semi final and a final.

The Woodstock Charity Cup is an invitational tournament open to affiliated adult teams from any of the leagues in Oxfordshire (Hellenic, Senior League, Witney and District, Oxford City FA and the Lord Jersey). We would ideally like to get a good mix from all the leagues.

Clubs will need squads of 16 players (roll on, roll off substitutes) and with the way the tournament is set out, that’s a minimum of 90 minutes of football over the day.

We are currently compiling a list of interested teams for consideration. It will be a good pre-season work out and a chance to have a good look at your players as well as being a good laugh!

As always, we will have the BBQ on the go, the bar will be open and there will even be stuff for the kids to do!

If you’re interested, call Liam on 07771926975
