Woodstock v Faringdon
We’ve been quiet on the website of late but now we’re back!
A lot has happened since we last posted, including actually winning a game (and drawing two).
We’re hoping to make it two wins and move a little bit closer to getting off the foot of the table as we take on fellow strugglers Faringdon at New Toad on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick off).
Last time out saw the Reds go down (without a fight) to champions elect Moreton Rangers who were clinical and ruthless in front of goal, helping themselves to 9 without reply.
Woodstock will have to put on a better showing if they are to get anything against our fellow Oxfordshire opponents as they are in need of points themselves. To move away from the danger zone in Division 2 West.
The two clubs faced each other back in January with Woodstock bossing the first half to lead 2-1 at the break and it should have been more with Woodstock being wasteful in front of goal. Farringdon came out strong in the second half as Town inexplicably stopped playing football and reverted to going direct. Three unanswered second half strikes from the hosts saw Woodstock given a lesson in clinical finishing and travel back home with nothing to show from a game they could have and should’ve won on a boggy pitch and in strong wind.
Join us to see if Town can bounce back from last weeks lacklustre performance and bag the points in this basement 6 pointer.
