Possibly the worst 45 minutes of the season saw Adderbury Park score 5 second half goals to resign Woodstock to yet another home defeat.
Things looked promising in the first half after Woodstock survived some early pressure and a penalty shout to grow into the game and possibly end the half the stronger.
Adderbury attempted to bully and target Woodstock’s younger players, who credit to them, stood up to the test. But it’s often hard for youngsters not to be affected when 30 year old men are threatening to break your legs and smash your face in after the game.
Both teams chose to stay out at half time to beat the light but it appeared Town couldn’t wait to get the game over with and they raised the white flag early on, conceding from a free kick which Cullen got a hand to buy couldn’t keep out.
Adderbury scores again a short while later as Woodstock didn’t clear their lines and the ball was vollied home from range.
No challenges, no fight and no backbone from Woodstock who allowed the visitors to dominate, standing off their opponents and allowing them to dictate play.
A very soft third goal snuck in at the far post through a crowd of players, Cullen gifted the 4th in not dealing with a high ball and an even softer 5th wrapped up a comprehensive win for Adderbury.
An unacceptable second half performance from Town who only have themselves to blame. Shambolic, embarrassing, the less said the better
