Weekend Preview

October 26, 2019

Both Woodstock teams are in league action this weekend.

The First Team are at home where they face Old Bradwell United. Despite currently being bottom of the table, the visitors have pushed several of the top sides this season and it will be a tough task if Town are to maintain their 100% record.

Callum Emmett, Fraser Day and top scorer Juan are all unavailable for the game today and with Tom Molloy (injured) and Sam Jeffrey (suspended) also out, it will be an unfamiliar lineup compared to previous weeks.

Ollie Hawkins returns to the side following his injury and Jamie Davies is expected to make his first start of the season.

Kick off at New Road for this Hellenic League 2 North game is 3pm. The bar will

Be open and there will be hot and cold food available.

Meanwhile, the Development Team are ‘away’ to Kirtlington in the Oxfordshire Senior League.

It’s only been 2 weeks since the first team beat Kirtlington in the County cup. It is expected to be a different Kirtlington side that face off against Town today, but if the cup victory teaches us anything it is that our opponents will be fast and physical, not afraid to put a challenge in (including late ones on keepers)

There are no availability issues for Callum Oliver’s side although Jamie Davies steppingstones up to the first team means that Karl Grossman gets another chance in goal.

We anticipate a pitch inspection at Stratfield Break this morning as there is currently standing water on the pitch. Kick off is 2.30pm
