After a hard fought 2-1 midweek win against Highworth in the cup, Chinnor FC visit New Road as we get back into league action.
Chinnor are a proper football club, well run and with good facilities and it was this that allowed them to weather a difficult set of circumstances in the close season and we look forward to welcoming their players and staff tomorrow afternoon.
They started the season without a win in their first few games although they pushed some top teams all the way. Since then have been resurgent and have picked up some points to move comfortably into mid table. They will be looking to cause Woodstock problems with their fast attacking brand of football which will make for an interesting and exciting spectacle and a different challenge to the long ball game faced in midweek.
Earlier in the season, Woodstock won 5-0 against Chinnor with a score line that flatters somewhat. But for some fine goalkeeping by Molloy, the score could have been much closer as Chinnor caused real problems, albeit on an equally difficult pitch.
The Reds have a relatively full squad to pick from. Nathan Emmett has recovered after coming off on Wednesday night and Jamie Fisher is still a little under the weather but available for selection if needed. Dan Collier returns to contention following a long lay off song with Fraser Day who was absent in midweek. There might also be opportunities for some of the younger players who have impressed in the development side.
Kick Off is at 2.15pm and as always, the bar will be open and we will be serving hot and cold food (still no vegan sausage rolls however)
Unfortunately we won’t be producing a programme for the game due to technical issues. We will also be experiencing reduced Twitter updates and no match report (although if Chinnor produce one, we won’t bitch or moan or get all sour)
